Lagos State, Governor, BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU has inaugurated a Digitized Modular Block of 12 Classrooms with Interactive Touch Screen and Sports facilities at Vetland Junior Grammar School, Agege. While handing over the facilities to the school, Governor SANWO-OLU restated his administration’s commitment to building schools of the future driven by cutting-edge technology across the state. He urged the school authorities to take full ownership of the facilities. On her part, the Commissioner for Education, Mrs FOLASADE ADEFISAYO said the current administration had been deliberate about transforming the Education Sector, through the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda.

The Lagos State government has allocated apartments to families who were displaced by the construction of the Agege pen cinema bridge. The fourteen affected families were given keys to the apartments allocated to them today by Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU. The lists of candidates contesting the 2023 elections have sparked multiple court cases by aggrieved aspirants in many states. States, where aggrieved aspirants are challenging the lists include Ogun, Gombe, Plateau, Akwa Ibom, Benue, Kano, and Taraba. Some of the aspirants, in separate interviews, faulted the lists submitted by parties and published by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Political parties had on June 17 submitted to the commission the lists of their candidates contesting the 2023 elections. The electoral commission on Friday released lists of candidates vying for various positions at the federal level in the 2023 general elections.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has disclosed that the Nigerian High Commission in the United Kingdom has engaged the services of lawyers to defend the senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District, Ike Ekweremadu, and his wife, Beatrice. Lawan made this known while giving details about the outcome of a closed session held by the upper chamber before the start of plenary proceedings. The closed-door session which started at about 10:57 a.m ended at 11:49 a.m. Ekweremadu, alongside his wife, was arrested by the UK Metropolitan Police last Tuesday for conspiracy to harvest the organs of a minor.
