The candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the June 18 governorship election in Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni, has filed a 1,095-page petition before the Ekiti State Election Petition Tribunal. Nigerian fintech company, Flutterwave Payment Technology Limited, has denied claims that it was involved in a $59 million money-laundering scheme in Kenya which led to the closure of bank accounts operated by the company. A Kenyan court had ordered the closure of 56 bank accounts operated by seven companies after the country’s Asset Recovery Agency told the court that the accounts were used as conduits for money laundering disguised as providing merchant services. Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has agreed on personal terms with Chelsea. The 27-year-old has one year left on his contract at City. Gunmen have invaded the residence of Reverend Daniel Umaru of the EYN Church Njairi, Mubi Local Government Area of Adamawa State, killing his sons and abducting his 13-year-old daughter.
