The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu is dead. VOP News learnt that he passed on in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, on Thursday. He is the second President General of Ohanaeze to die in quick succession. This was confirmed in a statement on Thursday by Jide Iwuanyanwu, the son of the late Chief Emmanuel. According to the statement, the 82-year-old Iwuanyanwu died on Thursday after a brief illness.

The Department of State Services (DSS) today issued a stern warning against the planned nationwide protest aimed at addressing the economic hardships in the country.
